New League, By-laws and Tournament Rules Just Passed for 2010 By The USBC
League Rules:
1. Duties of the President: Requires bank statements to be sent to the Presidents
2. Duties of the Treasurer: Changes the time frame for retaining records from 120 days to one year from completion of the season.
3. Series; How bowled: Allows for each game to be bowled on a different pair of lanes.
(This is for leagues who want to bowl each game on a different pair of lanes, moving after each game to make the game interesting.)
4. Request: To remove the 48 hours notification to pre or post bowl
Gives leagues more flexibility for requesting pre/post bowling.
Tournament Rules:
1. Averages established in USBC leagues which start after March 15th for the summer season shall be accepted as official.
As long as the bowler has 21 games bowled, a summer league average should be recognized as the equivalent of a winter league average.
2. Series: How Bowled, Two lanes required: Allows for each tournament games to be bowled on different pair of lanes. ( As the same in league #3)
3. Protests and Appeals: Changes the time frame for protesting rule infractions to 72 hours and the time frame for appealing tournament managements decision to 10 days.
National By-Laws:
1. Annual Meeting Voting: Provides for electronic balloting as the final system used for voting unless the president determines the circumstances require a different method.

If you have a person in mind who you believe belongs in the Golden Isles Bowler's Hall of Fame, click on the link above and then on the next page, click on the bottom link to get the nomination form. Print and fill out the form and turn it in to one of the Board of Directors for the Association or the front desk of the house where you bowl and ask them to forward it to us.
Mary Humphrey Scholarship Award Application
The Mary Humphrey Scholarship is awarded to a Golden Isles USBC Youth member who achieves academic success and gives back to their community. A High School Senior will be selected to receive a $500.00 scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded after enrollment in the college of choice.
Eligibility and Requirements – Applicants must:
1. Be in their senior year of high school.
2. Be a USBC Youth member in good standing.
3. Have a current GPA of 3.0 or better, based on 4.0 scale
4. Complete this form with a brief description of why you are deserving of this award.
